The Property Committee of the Pretoria Attorneys Association (PAA) has noted with disappointment that the City of Tshwane has failed to meet its undertakings with regard to eradicating the backlog in the delivery of Rates Clearance Figures / Certificates.  There has been significant demand by our Members that the PAA institute legal action against the City of Tshwane due to the massive damages (to Conveyancers, Buyers, Sellers, Agents and others) resulting from the backlog.  The PAA has therefore engaged Schindlers Attorneys (as experts in Municipal matters) to provide an Opinion on such Proposed Litigation.

The PAA and Schindlers will be providing virtual information and feedback sessions for our Members on Monday 21 September 2020 from 4 – 5 pm and on Monday 28 September 2020 from 4 – 5 pm.

All Conveyancers are invited to join either information session for an opportunity to receive feedback and have their firm’s backlogged applications included in any potential Court Application.
